Mathon Parish
St John the Baptist
The Parish Church of Mathon dedicated to St John the Baptist is in the Hundred of Radlow and was in the Deanery of Worcester until the Parish was transferred from Worcester to the Deanery Hereford in 1897 and from the Dioceses of Worcester to the Diocese of Hereford in 1906. A record of the church furnishings which includes the memorial inscriptions inside the church was prepared by the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies in 1995 and is available at the Herefordshire Record Office. In all 349 inscriptions have been recorded. 49 inside the Church and 300 in the Church Yard.
